Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Ciucci Pty Ltd, trading as Velvet Bean Carlton, ("we", "us") handles personal information in connection with this website. The site is an informational page for our café at 1st Floor, Trinity College, 194 Victoria St, Carlton VIC 3053. We don't run customer accounts, newsletters or advertising trackers.
Information we collect from visitors
We don't collect personal information from you when you browse this site. There are no analytics or advertising trackers, no contact form and no sign-up. We don't set cookies of our own on the public pages, and phone links simply open your device's dialer without telling us anything in advance.
Our web host records standard server logs (including your IP address, browser type and the pages requested) as an ordinary part of serving the site securely. We don't use those logs to identify individual visitors.
Ordering online
Scanning our QR code or following our ordering link takes you to Hey You, a separate ordering and payment provider. Anything you enter there, including your name, contact details, order and payment information, is collected by Hey You undertheir privacy policy, not this one. We receive only the order details we need to prepare and hand over your order.
Other third-party services
The "Find Us" section embeds a Google Maps view so you can see our location. Google may collect information when that map loads, in line withGoogle's own Privacy Policy. The reviews we quote come from our public Google listing.
The site's menu, hours and other content are stored with Supabase, our hosting provider for that content. This holds business information only, not visitor data. Our own staff sign in to a private admin page to update it; that sign-in stores a session token in the browser of the staff member using it, and it isn't part of the public site.
Some of these providers store data on servers outside Australia. By using the site you agree that information handled by them may be held overseas.
CCTV and in-store
This policy covers the website. If you visit us in person, any in-store payment, loyalty or camera systems are handled separately. Ask our staff and we'll explain what's in use.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or make a complaint about how we've handled it, using the contact details below. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact theOffice of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Children's privacy
This site is a general-audience business page and is not directed at children.
